Description

We study doubly heavy baryons and pentaquarks in the pion mean-field picture. In this description, the two heavy quarks form a compact core, while the light quarks are described by a pion field. The approach provides a good description of the observed doubly charmed baryons and allows us to estimate the masses of unobserved charmed and bottom baryons. Applying the same framework to doubly heavy pentaquarks, we predict the lightest charmed states at about (3.9)–(4.0) GeV and their bottom counterparts at about (10.2) GeV.
